My name is Avery Rose Andrews. I was born in San Francosco, CA on June 19th, 1998 to Caprice Carter and Colin Andrews. I moved to Alameda when I was 3 1/2 . I spent Kindergarten at Lum Elementary befor switching to Paden Elementary for grades 1-5. When I was 7, my parents adopted my cousins, Katy and Kimi, who are twins. While in grade school I played classical piano and practiced competitve gymnastics. I attended Nea for 6th grade, and moved to ACLC for 7th grade, and have been here ever since. I began competitive rowing at Artemis Rowing Club in 2012, and switched to Oakland Strokes Inc. in 2014. I have continued to take classical piano with Amelie Mel de Fonnetay and participate in her quarterly recitals. I currently work as a part-time gymanstics coach at Bay Island Gymnastics, where I teach children of all ages a passion for athleticism, leadership, and hard work. I intend to pursue a Biochemistry degree with a pre-med track, and go on to study in med school. I hope to continue rowing competitively at a collegiate level for all four years of college. My sights are currently set on working in OB/GYN surgery, but I can also see my interests directing me towards medical research. Outside of school and crew and piano, I enjoy social media, concerts, and annoying my dog Rocket.
